This Code system is used in the following value sets:

  • Immunization Status Codes (The value set to instantiate this attribute should be drawn from a terminologically robust code system that consists of or contains concepts to support describing the current status of the administered dose of vaccine.)
  • EventStatus (Codes identifying the stage lifecycle stage of a event)

Codes identifying the stage lifecycle stage of a event

This code system http://hl7.org/fhir/event-status defines the following codes:

Code Display Definition
preparation Preparation The core event has not started yet, but some staging activities have begun (e.g. surgical suite preparation). Preparation stages may be tracked for billing purposes.
in-progress In Progress The event is currently occurring
not-done Not Done The event was terminated prior to any impact on the subject (though preparatory actions may have been taken)
suspended Suspended The event has been temporarily stopped but is expected to resume in the future
aborted Aborted The event was terminated prior to the full completion of the intended actions but after having at least some impact on the subject.
completed Completed The event has now concluded
entered-in-error Entered in Error This electronic record should never have existed, though it is possible that real-world decisions were based on it. (If real-world activity has occurred, the status should be "cancelled" "cancelled" rather than "entered-in-error".) "entered-in-error".)
unknown Unknown The authoring system does not know which of the status values currently applies for this request. Note: This concept is not to be used for "other" "other" - one of the listed statuses is presumed to apply, it's just not known which one.

Explanation of the columns that may appear on this page:

Level Lvl A few code lists that FHIR defines are hierarchical - each code is assigned a level. In this scheme, some codes are under other codes, and imply that the code they are under also applies See Code System for further information.
Source The source of the definition of the code (when the value set draws in codes defined elsewhere)
Code The code (used as the code in the resource instance). If the code is in italics, this indicates that the code is not selectable ('Abstract')
Display The display (used in the display element of a Coding ). If there is no display, implementers should not simply display the code, but map the concept into their application
Definition An explanation of the meaning of the concept
Comments Additional notes about how to use the code
